As a cornerstone of Project Briggs, Inc. diversity efforts, Diversity & Cultural Engagement is committed to the overall development of all people. We create and advocate for inclusive and educationally purposeful initiatives that enhance deep learning, successful, cross-cultural and self efficacy by fostering a climate that support social equality, community engagement and awareness and envolement.
Holiday Project - Suicide Awareness - 2018
We are dedicated to providing proactive education, training, emotional support, collaboration, and intervention around suicide. One of our programs will be around mental illness and the signs of depression. 1-800-273-8255
#THEBOLDBRAVE30 - March 2018
Annual Public Service Recognition Reception honoring 30 individuals/organizations for their outstanding Public Service for the community at-large.
Casa Ruby Annual Toiletry Drive Happy Hour - March 2018
Annual Toiletry Drive Happy Hour, benefitting CASA RUBY, The only Bilingual Multicultural LGBT Organization in the Metropolitan Area www.casaruby.org in which a large number of their clients have incomes of less than $15,000.00 per year.
Winter Item/Coat Drive - 2018
We will collect and donate new and gently used winter items to shelters and homeless in the District and Maryland area. We will partner with several of the Greek Letter organizations.
HBCU's - LGBT Safe Partnership - UDC, Howard, Morgan, Coppin, UMES, Bowie
Many historically black colleges and universities have been slow to adopt policies and approve campus organizations that cater to lesbian, gay, transgender and queer youth. We have several institutions in our background that we will provides resources, trainings , and support
Pride-Social (Spring/Summer)
Project Briggs, Inc. will partner with local businesses to engage in expanding community engagement for both DC Black Pride and Baltimore Black Pride activities and diverse social environments with portions of proceeds benefiting the organizations
Holiday Basket Drive
Project Briggs will provide gift baskets for those who may not otherwise be remembered this holiday season. These baskets will contain: cookies, snacks, hot drink mixes, books, playing cards, puzzles, hats and gloves, scarves, lap blankets, snuggies, stamps, stationary, pens, lotions, soaps, and any other items to make someone’s day brighter.
Black Church Partnership
Project Briggs will provide critical information to all of its members, congregants, churches and the public. Our aim of is to offer our member congregants and the public helpful and healthy -based tips on how to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our purpose is to partner with Black Churches and officials whose mission is to reduce disparities in the LBGT community and faith based Project Briggs will be the blueprint model for others to follow in the country.
Xscape II White
Project Briggs, Inc formed in April 2016 for the purpose to provide leadership, improve capacity building, communication, promote and to assist urban projects through innovative fundraising activities and advocacy in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. "Xscape II White" will be held annually as a symbol and celebration of the organization's work in the community throughout the year.
POWER: Noir Et Blanc Soiree
Project Briggs, Inc. will celebrate its annual Black and White event. POWER: Noir Et Blanc Soiree's goal is to raise funds to support our community service projects, endowments, and operating expenses for current programming. This event will allow us to solicit both community service participation and financial donations from our constituents.
Project Red - Health & Wellness
Project Briggs, Inc. will partner with Greater Washington Area Gyms and Fitness Experts to assist in promoting our annual/quarterly programing geared towards healthy eating habits and physical fitness goals. "A Healthy New You" will become our Health & Wellness mantra, which will enable us to advocate healthy living efforts with local community Gyms
Martini's For A Cure
Project Briggs, Inc. will partner with local businesses to engage in expanding community engagement for non-traditional and diverse environments with portions of proceeds benefiting the organization.
